Traditionally served as an appetiser, a range of delicious antipasto is available, ready to serve, from large supermarkets or delicatessens. An appealing selection, as shown in this platter
should ideally include both purchased and homemade items, with as wide a range of tastes and
textures as possible. Choose from a selection of cured meats (salami, mortadella, prosciutto);
vegetables (roasted tomatoes, marinated eggplant, mushrooms and artichoke hearts, peeled capsicum, herbed olives); crunchy Italian breadsticks known as grissini; and cheeses (marinated
bocconcini, baked ricotta, wedges of gorgonzola and perhaps a hard cheese, such as parmesan).
