Goreng Pisang ( Fried bananas)

Preparation time :: 10 minutes.
Cooking time :: 10 minutes.
Serves :: 4.

This is practically a national snack among the migrant populations in South East Asia who serve it with scoops of coconut or mango ice­cream. An exotic way to treat bananas.

Ingredients

  • 4 bananas, peeled and cut into halves.
  • oil for deep frying.
  • For the batter -
  • 4 tablespoons self-raising flour.
  • 4 tablespoons rice flour.
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour.
  • 2 pinches salt.
  • For sprinkling -
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar.
  • To serve - coconut or mango ice-cream.

Preparation.

  1. Mix the self-raising flour, rice flour, corn flour, 1/2 cup of water and salt into a smooth paste.
  2. Dip the banana halves in the batter and deep fry in oil until golden in color.
  3. Roll in the brown sugar.
  • Serve with ice-cream.
